People have often speculated about what year Jesus was born. If the star of Bethlehem was - as some have proposed - a supernova, then scientists working in Antarctica may be able to pin the date down.
It turns out that supernova displays leave nitrate traces in the layer of ice for a particular year. See this New Scientist article for details!
The main star of Bethlehem will always be Jesus (not forgetting his mother who bore him). But I wonder if nitrate traces will be found for the year zero? |

Do you still feel like complete members of mankind as a christian?
I ask because in the past I have found myself in a conflict there. I grew up and spent my youth as a pretty devout humanist ... what for a christian is God, for me was mankind. Later on I got to know about God and had pretty deep personal proofs of His existence to me, but still I struggled with God a lot about things like hell and punishment. I've found it incredibly hard to accept christian doctrine there. And now after becoming a baptized christian, I still struggle with it.
Do you have thoughts or ideas that may help with the thought that not all of humanity will be saved in the end?
Today I kind of gave up. I remembered Jesus' words that He had chosen His disciples out of the world, so that they would belong to Him and to His Father, and not to the world anymore.
I just can't "serve" both God and mankind. It's conflicting too much and distorts my search for truth. |

This story is also based off of Joss Whedon's brilliant television show Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Domlijah is based off the couple of Spike/Buffy...especially during season 7.
Summary: Elijah Wood is a vampire slayer. Dominic Monaghan is a master vampire, known for killing slayers. What happens when they are forced to team up, and not only that...when unexpected feelings arise?

Do you think Adam and Eve had any fear of God in the garden? I mean true fear, not just respect.
Is the fear of God maybe a compromise, something that is necessary because we have a fallen nature which would compel us to sin if we didn't stay in the fear of God? So that then, in Heaven, on and after that glorious day, there will not be any fear of God anymore, no matter how small or huge? |

IF YOU WANT TO CULTIVATE PEACE, PROTECT CREATION
1. At the beginning of this New Year, I wish to offer heartfelt greetings of peace to all Christian communities, international leaders, and people of good will throughout the world. For this XLIII World Day of Peace I have chosen the theme: If You Want to Cultivate Peace, Protect Creation. Respect for creation is of immense consequence, not least because "creation is the beginning and the foundation of all God's works",[1] and its preservation has now become essential for the pacific coexistence of mankind. Man's inhumanity to man has given rise to numerous threats to peace and to authentic and integral human development – wars, international and regional conflicts, acts of terrorism, and violations of human rights. Yet no less troubling are the threats arising from the neglect – if not downright misuse – of the earth and the natural goods that God has given us. For this reason, it is imperative that mankind renew and strengthen "that covenant between human beings and the environment, which should mirror the creative love of God, from whom we come and towards whom we are journeying".[2]
